CURRENT STUDENTS

Academic Affairs: Develops academic policies, provides student learning resources, and assists students in being well-informed about their rights and school regulations. 

Bookstore: Offers a wide range of branded apparel, textbooks, gift items, and snacks/drinks for purchase.

Medical Library: Provides private study rooms, computer labs, printing/scanning services, and writing consulting services. The library is staffed 92.5 hours per week and offers 24/7 access to the Student Commons. Online resources include 140+ databases, 10,000+ electronic journals, and 3,000+ e-books.

Student Success and Retention: Provides individual counseling to assist students with time management, study skills, and active learning strategies.

Bursar: Facilitates tuition and fee invoices and payments, payment plans, and tuition refunds.

Financial Aid: Assists with FAFSA and student loans, student scholarships, cost of attendance, and satisfactory academic progress/aid conditions.

Registrar: Oversees university catalog publication, academic calendars, course registration, transcript requests, student health insurance enrollment, and student record updates.

Student Counseling Center: Provides psychological and psychiatric assessment, short-term psychotherapy, medication management, consultation and crisis intervention, community referrals, workshops, and psychoeducational programming.

Student Health Services: Offers routine immunizations and urgent care for medical illnesses at Ochsner Employee/Student Health Clinic. Please note: urgent care is a billable service.

Sexual Assault and Violence Education (SAVE): Provides training, educational awareness programming, and support services to reduce the incidence of power-based violence (e.g., dating/domestic violence, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking) on- and off-campus.

Title IX: Ensures an environment free of sex- and gender-based harassment and discrimination by processing Title IX complaints, providing supportive measures, and making referrals to on- and off-campus resources. 

University Police Department: Provides on-campus safety and security services, motorist assistance (jumpstarts and unlocking vehicles), police escorts, and lost-and-found services.

Diversity Affairs: Ensures equal opportunity and assistance to those who have traditionally been on the outside looking in through education, programming, and policy.

Fitness Zone and Intramural Sports: Provides on-campus fitness and recreational spaces, including weights and cardio equipment, fitness classes, and a basketball gym. Intramural sports are hosted at the neighboring LSU Shreveport campus with various year-round offerings, such as flag football, basketball, and volleyball.

Institutional Wellness: Facilitates educational programming and student support services related to students' physical, emotional, social, financial, and digital wellness.

Student Affairs: Manages student recruitment, admissions, orientation, organizations, and events.

JEDI Ambassador Program: Promotes justice, equity, diversity, and inclusion by facilitating discussions, raising awareness about social issues, and embracing cultural diversity to foster a compassionate healthcare community.

Student Government Association: Provides the student body with an avenue to bring forth issues for resolution and enhancement of the academic community and coordinates activities to address the student body's needs.

Alpha Eta: National Honor Society of the Allied Health Professions whose members represent the top ten percent of graduates.

Delta Omega: National Honor Society for Public Health, recognizing public health students, faculty, and alumni for outstanding performance and devotion to the field.
