The Mollie E. Webb Speech & Hearing Center is an outpatient clinic offering evaluations and treatment for people of all ages with speech, language, and hearing challenges. The Center is located at 3735 Blair Street and operates within the LSU Health Shreveport School of Allied Health Professions. Our providers are comprised of nationally certified and state-licensed speech-language pathologists. The Mollie E. Webb Speech & Hearing Center is the only National Aphasia Association recognized Aphasia Center in Northern Louisiana.
As part of the evaluation, the client may be asked to describe, name, or point to pictures and objects. A hearing screening is also completed as part of the evaluation. Treatment may include speech or language therapy. In some cases, special devices may be used to enhance communication (augmentative and alternative communication).

We have new equipment.
The faculty, staff, and students at the Mollie E. Webb Speech and Hearing Center want to thank those who provided the generous gifts to allow them to purchase new equipment. Through this support we have expanded student learning and advanced our ability to diagnose and treat our patients.
Computerized Speech Lab (CSL) captures acoustical sounds in voice and speech production, which assists the speech pathologist in diagnosing and treating speech disorders. The data that the CSL captures is also used by the Center for research efforts, a critical component.

The SmartPalate is real-time biofeedback mouthpiece system that creates a digital visualization of how a patient’s tongue functions during speech. It allows the speech pathologist to gain a clear understanding of what changes need to be implemented to see real improvement in a patient’s speech.
