The School of Allied Health Professions at LSU Health Shreveport offers several bachelor's programs in the clinical sciences that are designed to prepare students for highly sought-after careers in the healthcare industry. Our undergraduate programs not only provide valuable knowledge and skills for immediate entry into the healthcare industry but also serve as a solid foundation for those with aspirations of pursuing graduate-level education in fields such as medicine, physician assistant (PA), or public health. 

Our on-site bachelor's degree programs include Cardiopulmonary Science, Cardiovascular Technology, and Medical Laboratory Science. Additionally, we offer a 100% online RRT to BS CPS Program, a degree advancement program for individuals with earned associate degrees in respiratory therapy who wish to earn their Bachelor of Science in Cardiopulmonary Science.

Bachelor of Science in Cardiovascular Technology

The cardiovascular technologist program prepares students to assist physicians in the diagnosis, evaluation, and treatment of cardiac (heart) and peripheral vascular (blood vessel) disease. Completion of our program meets educational requirements to apply for the Registered Cardiac Sonographer and Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist credentialing exams.  < LEARN MORE >

The Medical Laboratory Science Program pairs academic and clinical experience to prepare graduates for a vast array of exciting career options with one degree. Graduating from our NAACLS accredited program allows you to take the most desirable national certification exam: the Board of Certification of the American Society of Clinical Pathology.

Nursing Programs

The School of Allied Health Professions also serves as an off-campus instructional site for the School of Nursing at LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans hosting two bachelor's programs in nursing: the Bachelor of Science Career Alternative RN Education (CARE) and the Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Sciences (RN-BSN) Programs.

Bachelor of Science Career Alternative RN Education (CARE Program)

The Career Alternative RN Education (CARE) Program, leading to the Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree, is designed for individuals who have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in any field and who would like to become a nurse. The program of study is for two-years and prepares graduates for the NCLEX-RN licensure exam. LSUHS serves as an off-campus instructional site for the School of Nursing at LSU Health New Orleans. < LEARN MORE >

Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science (RN to BSN)* - Hybrid (Online & On-Site)

The Registered Nurse to Bachelor of Science in Nursing (RN-BSN) Program is designed for registered nurses with associate’s degrees or diplomas in nursing. The RN-BSN program can be completed in 12 months of full-time enrollment or a longer time for part-time enrollment. Courses are offered in a hybrid format with a combination of face-to-face and online courses. Applications for enrollment are accepted for the fall, spring, and summer semesters.  < LEARN MORE >
